1. Definitions
- Lessor: YU CAR RENTAL, located in Kralendijk, Bonaire.
- Lessee: The natural or legal person renting a vehicle.
- Vehicle: The rented vehicle including all accessories.
- Rental Period: The agreed period as confirmed in the reservation.
- 100% Coverage: Insurance package with full coverage and no deductible.
- CDW: Collision Damage Waiver with a limited deductible.
- Rental Agreement: The agreement between lessor and lessee, including these terms.
2. Rental Requirements
- Minimum age: 21 years.
- A valid driver’s license is required; an international license is not required.
- Driver’s licenses from the United States are fully accepted.
- The lessee must be capable of operating the vehicle safely.
- YU CAR RENTAL reserves the right to refuse a reservation.
3. Reservation and Payment
- A reservation becomes binding once the lessee receives a confirmation.
- Online reservations qualify for automatic discounts of 3%, 6%, or 12%, depending on the rental period.
- All rates are transparent; YU CAR RENTAL charges no hidden fees.
- Payment is completed digitally through our verification procedure.
- Any deposit or outstanding balance is settled according to the selected coverage.
4. Cancellations
- YU CAR RENTAL applies a fully flexible cancellation policy.
- The lessee pays only for the days the vehicle was actually used.
- With Premium 100% Coverage, no cancellation fees apply.
- With Standard CDW, a cancellation fee may apply.
5. Insurance and Coverage
- 5.1 Premium 100% Coverage
- No deductible.
- No deposit required.
- All damage covered, including damage to the rented vehicle.
- Additional driver included.
- Flat tire service included.
- Tank rack included.
- No cancellation fees.
- No afterhours pickup fees.
- 5.2 Standard CDW
- Deductible: USD 650.
- Deposit: USD 650.
- Additional driver: USD 10 per day.
- Flat tire service: USD 40.
- Tank rack: USD 5.
- Cancellation fee: USD 80.
- 5.3 Exclusions
- Important: If the lessee drives away from the scene of an incident or accident, all coverage becomes void, including Premium 100% Coverage.
6. Use of the Vehicle
- Unlimited mileage included.
- The vehicle may only be used on Bonaire.
- Local traffic rules must be followed:
- • 40 km/h in built-up areas
- • 60 km/h on main roads
- • Bonaire has no traffic lights; traffic is regulated through roundabouts and signs.
- The lessee is responsible for all traffic fines and violations.
- Fuel policy: vehicles can be delivered with a full tank upon request; the vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level.
7. Pickup and Return
- 7.1 Self Service (24/7)
- Contactless pickup at any time.
- Instructions are provided after reservation confirmation.
- No waiting times.
- 7.2 Airport Pickup
- The vehicle is ready in the airport parking area.
- The lessee can enter and drive away immediately.
- No counter, no waiting line.
- 7.3 Premium Meet & Greet
- Personal reception in the arrival hall.
- Luggage is carried to the vehicle.
- Documents are preprocessed.
- Departure within 300 seconds.
8. Incidents, Damage, and Accidents
- 8.1 Mandatory Protocol
- In case of damage, accident, or incident:
- Do not move the vehicle.
- Call CRS-Caribbean Road Services: +599 717 9292.
- They will take photos and prepare an official report.
- The lessee receives a copy of this report.
- Call YU CAR RENTAL: +599 795 5565.
- Wait for further instructions and/or a replacement vehicle.
- 8.2 Roadside Assistance
- For mechanical difficulties like a flat tire or engine issues:
- Call Support & Roadside Assistance +599 785 2604.
- The lessee must inform YU CAR RENTAL while waiting.
9. Liability
- The lessee is liable for damage caused by negligence, reckless driving, driving under the influence, or failure to follow the incident protocol.
- YU CAR RENTAL is not liable for personal belongings left inside the vehicle.
10. Privacy
- Personal data is processed according to the YU CAR RENTAL Privacy Policy.
11. Applicable Law
- Only BES legislation applies.
- Disputes are submitted to the competent court in Bonaire.
